„Active education on Green Slags - Greenways" is a project carried out by the Foundation for the Environment in the cooperation with organisations: Urban Mines (Wlk. Britain), Environment Lillehammer (Green Norway Business, Norway), Environmental Partnership for Sustainable Development, Foundation for Environmental Education (Denmark), European Cyclist Federation (Norway, Germany, Iceland) in years 2009 - 2011. In the area of functioning of the Podlaski Szlak Bociani an EKOTON is a coordinator.
Using by the Foundation is an aim of the project Partnership for the Environment of existing trails of the legacy natural - cultural to:
- of education ecological for a balanced lifestyle;
- limiting the greenhouse gas emission (in particular carbon dioxide) by propagating nonmotorized forms of transport;
In the long-term Greenways aspect they not only have an opportunity to become the example of what a balanced lifestyle means, but also the element with system of balancing emission carbon dioxide.
Aims of the project will be achieved through following action:
- building the certification scheme reviewed by the outside individual ecological, modeled on international systems of the environmental certification;
- creating Centres of the Environmental Education (CEE) functioning based on the network certificate of buildings working on green slags and propagating resulting benefits from an ecological lifestyle and providing with examples of the sustainable development;
- drawing up the Internet tool „Calculator of carbon dioxide", serving for the monitoring of emission carbon dioxide by companies and institutions, the local communities, private persons and visiting Greenways tourists.
As part of the two-year project „ Active ecological education on Green Greenways Slags "as many as 450 subjects - including companies, offices, schools and non-governmental organizations - can receive the ecological certificate. beneficiaries of the project moga to apply for granting the following certificates:
CLEAN TOURISM
Companies from the tourist sector which will become involved in of action in favour of the environmental protection, after meeting determined requirements will be able to compete for the Certificate of the "Clean Tourism", granted by the Foundation Partnership for the Environment. The certificate will be valid for two years, after this period it will be necessary to compete for it again.
GREEN OFFICE
Program "Green Office" - it is an offer both for enterprises of both offices as well as schools and non-governmental organizations - of everyone which in everyday office activity are consuming energy much, of materials and produce waste. The program is aimed at helping organizations to lower costs of functioning of its office by using modern answers which are contributing for the reduction of influence of the office on the environment. A certificate of the "Green Office" will be a receipt of achieving the good level of management and efficiently and economically functioning office.
BIKE FRIENDLY 
Bike Friendly it is a domestic certification scheme of tourist and other objects which are promoting the sustainable transport taking into account peculiar needs of cyclists and bicycle tourists.
With important aim of the certificate long-term improving services and infrastructures are for cyclists and tourists moving on a bike in Poland. Amongst benefits to companies and the institution which they will recruit it is necessary to mention the certificate above all:
- receiving ecological of quality mark,
- singling out from competition,
- presentation of objects on maps and tourist guides but also standardized promotion on the web page.
Similar certificates are being implemented in other European countries - in the Czech Republic, Germany, of Austria, of Switzerland, of Croatia, on Slovakia and Hungary. THE LOCAL CENTRE OF THE ECOLOGICAL ACTIVITY AND THE GREEN FLAG

Schools which in the special way are prompting receive the name of the Local Centre of the Ecological Activity and they are concentrating the social activity of inhabitants as well as through the example and action they are creating the active education environment for young people. The title of the Local Centre of the Ecological Activity is the first step to the certification of schools with international certificate „Green Flag".
„Green Flag" is a title which is being given schools a lot of worldwide in Eco frameworks of the programme - Schools (www.eco-schools.com) Program Eco-Schools he is being carried out from 1994, at the moment c 15,000 schools are sharing in it in of 43 countries of Europe as well as Africa, of Płd America., of Asia and Oceanii. So far almost 4,500 schools obtained the honourable mention - Green Flag. Eco-Schools - he is program based on management systems Environmental (EMAS, ISO 14001) consisting in raising the awareness of ecological secondary school children through of action in favour of effective using the energy and raw materials and the balanced waste disposal (in this recycling) in schools and surrounding them. To Poland a Foundation is performing the role of the domestic coordinator Partnership for the Environment which is as only entitled to send the certificate of the Green Flag.
